Woodworkers for CONSERVANCY of Southwest Florida - Sustainable Renovations

 The New Eaton Conservation Hall

CONSERVANCY of Southwest Florida work hard to protect and restore the unique, natural environment and quality of life in our region. The Nature Centre in Naples is an incredible environmental science research and education facility for water, land and wildlife and also incorporates the von Arx Wildlife Hospital.  Phase one renovations of the 21 acre Nature Centre were completed in Spring 2013.  The $20 million Nature Centre makeover integrated the highest level of green design and construction into the facility, incorporating green energy sources and achieving LEED certification on all buildings.

The Delnor auditorium was dramatically transformed into the Eaton Conservation Hall, which houses all environmental programs.  The Jeanie Meg Smith Theatre within has become a high tech educational facility, with surround sound and a giant immersive screen.

In keeping with the Conservancy's green ethos for sustainable renovations, Woodworkers, panelled the curved theatre with beautiful pecky cypress planks, recycled from the old Lutgert Commons.  A honey gold stain finish was then applied to bring the wood back to it's original splendor and the room finished with a copper ceiling.
